Ok, wow. I'm currently baking some fabulously delicious muffins for Thanksgiving tomorrow and have "Bridezillas" on in the background. Apparently this is a special one where they recap the biggest meltdowns that these brides have had in the course of planning for their weddings. Wow is really all I can say. I think these women are actually crazy! Granted, some of the things that happen to them would legitimately make me angry, but I would never, say, smash the cake at the bakery because I changed my mind on flavors and they said it was too late. Seriously? Who raised these women? And who is dumb enough to marry them?
One of my favorite quotes came from an orange woman who was hysterically crying... "My tan is running!". That along with some other chick who just said "I'm going to f*** that old lady up!".
I want to change the channel, but I just can't tear myself away from the drama!

Daniel Tosh
For Mike's birthday back in November, I bought him tickets to see comedian Daniel Tosh, from the show Tosh.0 on Comedy Central.
First we drove down to visit Oma. It had been a while since I had seen her, so it was really nice to spend some time with her! She hadn't seen my engagement ring yet and was overjoyed. I also showed her the pictures of my dress!
After our visit with Oma, we headed over to Adam and Eva's to hang out and have some appetizers. Let me tell you, no one makes brie like Eva does. I don't even like it and I can't stop eating it. She makes a whiskey/butter/sugar sauce to go over it that is to die for! Adam created some yummy treats as well - he made little mini cornbread muffins with barbecued chicken INSIDE. So yummy!
Finally, we headed out to the show in San Francisco. We hit a tiny bit of traffic, but made up for it by scoring free street parking! Seriously, when does that ever happen?! The show was at the Nob Hill Masonic Center, which neither of us had ever been to.
Comedian Eddie Gossling was the opening act (who knew comedians had opening acts?) and he was pretty funny! Then it was time for the main event - Tosh himself. It was definitely a funny show! As always, he definitely pushed the envelope and did a pretty good job of keeping the audience engaged. I haven't seen a large comedy show like this before, so I was a little disappointed in the way he didn't really interact with the audience. The shows I've been to before have been smaller venues where the comedians really pick on the audience. Let's be real, it's funny as long as you're not in the front row! He very much had the same sense of humor he has on his show and it was a lot of fun!
We made it home right around midnight - it was a 12 hour round trip... not a bad day!
Today is all about the relaxing... I'm imposing lazy Sunday. We might do some honeymoon research (after all, nothing says rainy afternoon activity like looking at tropical destinations) and some grocery shopping. Not a bad day!

Moving Day!
What a crazy day! Today was the official moving day! Thankfully, both my parents and Tim and Nicki (along with Miss Skyler) helped Mike and I schlep all of my stuff from the old house to Mike's. It actually went a lot faster than I had thought it would... apparently after 10 or so years of moving around, you finally figure out how to pack your stuff up (Dad, I'm so sorry about that one college move where EVERYTHING was in paper bags). We rented a Uhaul, picked it up around 9am and were back eating pizza at Mike's around 12:30... not bad for the sheer amount of stuff I have! I have no idea where it's come from over the last few years!
It feels so good to finally have all of my stuff up here... it doesn't seem like that would make a big difference, but it really does. Now for the unpacking and organizing... if you know me, you know I thrive on organizing! One thing on my big, daunting list of tasks over the next few weeks to check off! Next up, figuring how to rent the house out!
Tonight Mike and I watched a new show... it's a documentaryish type show that HBO is doing called "The Pacific". Part one of ten was on tonight and it's really good! We just set it up to tape the rest. Tom Hanks narrates it. There's another show coming up on National Geographic next Sunday... it's an 11 part series called "Life" and it looks absolutely amazing. I can't wait!
With that, I think I'm off to watch some more tv and then to head to bed!

Ok, let me tell you how much I love 24. AWESOME show. I watched last night which was the first two hours of the 4 hour premiere. HOLY COW! I had rehearsal tonight, so I had to tape the second half, but the parents say it was great! I'm totally a viewer now!
In other exciting news, February 9, 2006 is Singathon 2006. Yes, that's a real thing. It's one of our big fundraisers for the year! We will be singing for four hours and each choir member has been tasked with raising $150. So, starting tonight I will keep tabs on the right hand side of this page to let you know how I'm doing. We perform for four hours on the 9th - it's one of the rare free events (show tunes and fun stuff, not really classical for this event), so if you'd like to come let me know and I'll get you info. Also, if you'd like to sponsor me (for any amount) please also let me know! It's just a flat rate, no dollars per minute sung or anything like that. You're doing a great thing for the arts! :)

A Reality Show I Thought I'd Never Watch
"Tommy Lee Goes to College"
Yes, you read that correctly. Mom and I got hooked on Tommy Lee's show tonight. We watched three and a half episodes (well, Rockstar INXS was on during the third one so we had to switch back and forth on commercial breaks). He may be stupid, but he's definitely funny and entertaining. I loved when he moved in with this totally nerdy guy (I have nothing against nerds, in fact, I am one.... Shout out to all my band geeks!) and decked out their dorm room. He comes back in and there's a big screen TV and a bar. The guy sits down to play video games with Tommy Lee and says "Where's all my stuff?". Hilarious.
We can't believe he made the marching band. I mean, yes, he was the drummer for a world famous rock band, but he seriously sucked at the quads. I can't wait to see how he actually ends up doing in the field show!
So I need to explain the artist of the week. I think you guys will all really like her. This first song is the only song that she has out on the radio, so you may or may not have heard it. Her name is Anna Nalick and she has this amazing voice. It's sort of a cross between Jewel and Fiona Apple. Very interesting and the lyrics are pretty good as well. I bought the CD and am very happy with it!

Washington, Here I Come
Look out DC, I'm on a mission. At 9:55pm tonight I announced my new campaign. I will be flying to Washington D.C. to lobby for American Idol reform. Why you ask? Well, I find it very suspicious that someone who sings the last four songs of the show COMPLETELY FLAT would become the American Idol. I mean, really, what does this say about our country? "Yeah, she sings flat but she sure is pretty!" That would be the Miss America contest. I think some of the viewers are confused. This is about SINGING. Now, on one hand we have Bo Bice. The man can sing. Sure, he has long hair and looks like he should be in the Eagles.
