Another Monday

Tim's mama sent me this... I really think it's great! Thanks Shirley!
HOW TO STAY YOUNG
Remember, there is no way you can look as bad as that person on your drivers license.
  1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.
  2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
  3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. " An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.
  4. Enjoy the simple things.
  5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
  6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
  7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
  8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
  9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
  10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
  11. Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things.
Isn't that fantastic? I especially like number 7 - my mama tells me that all the time - home is your refuge, don't bring work or bad things into it! And the guilt trip thing. I'm Catholic, we like guilt. I could definitely live without it!

So today was fairly boring. Just another Monday. Got to leave work an hour early which was nice. I was a good girl today - I went to the gym while Tim was at class... I worked my little butt off on that stair stepper thing! Who would have thought climbing stairs would work up a sweat! But that's good - I have a really hard time with exercises that don't make me sweat. It makes me feel like I'm not getting a good workout. I guess that's the cross country runner in me. There's no way you do the 6 mile run to the mall in 110 degree heat without "glistening" a little.

Oh, I updated the poll... it's one of those fun SAT questions. You can answer on the poll and then email me if you want the correct answer and/or an explanation. I thought it would be kind of fun. A brain teaser, if you will.

Ok, on that happy note, I'm off to bed. I'm sleepy. Plus I got a new romance novel at Costco on Sunday. Haven't had a chance to read it yet. I might dive in until I fall asleep. Yeah! Good night!
